Blogging for Family Historians: How, Where and Why, presented by Carmel Galvin
When: 7:00pm
Where: Online via Zoom
The Family History Writers Group meets with the aim of providing encouragement and support to aspiring family historians wishing to produce a readable and entertaining record of their family’s history.
For this month's topic, we have Carmel Galvin presenting 'Blogging for Family Historians'.
Have you thought about starting a blog, but weren’t sure where to begin, or even why it might be worth doing? In this presentation, Carmel will share her experience of blogging family stories at Earlier Years for more than 12 years. She will talk about how blogging can help family historians build a lasting portfolio of stories, connect with others, and give their research a wider audience. The session will explore a range of blogging platforms, with a brief introduction to Blogger as one of the simplest ways to get started. A handout will be provided, listing the blogs, platforms and illustration tools mentioned during the presentation.
To attend this meeting on Zoom you will need a computer with a webcam and microphone, and sufficient data allowance. Some experience using Zoom is also advised.
