This online seminar will teach you how to use the genealogical tool 'What Are The Odds?' (WATO) created by genealogist and web developer Jonny Perl at DNAPainter.com. This tool allows you to identify potential places where a DNA tester can fit into a family tree based on shared DNA, allowing you to solve mysteries in your own ancestry, as well as solving where unknown matches fit into your family tree.
Suitable for advanced beginners to intermediate DNA researchers, this course assumes some previous knowledge of autosomal DNA testing and navigation of Ancestry and/or MyHeritage. This course will not cover WATO+ (WATO plus), the new version of WATO, as using WATO+ requires a paid subscription whereas standard WATO is free.
This course will be held online via Zoom only with limited places to ensure our presenters can give their full attention to all attendees. Handouts will be provided digitally before the event. This session will be recorded for any participants that cannot attend live. The recording will be made available for 14 days only after the event, after which time it will be removed. All times refer to local Australian Central Daylight Time (ACDT). If this event has sold out, please add yourself to the waiting list to be contacted if we run this course in the future.
