This month for Twilight Talks, Helen Livingston will be challenging the idea that there were no convicts in South Australia.

No convicts here! Are you sure? When Helen was a newcomer in South Australia, almost the first thing her Victorian-born teenage children were told was, 'You come from a convict colony. We (South Australia) had NO convicts.' But the truth of South Australia's convict history is much more complex.

From 1837 to 1852, South Australia sentenced prisoners to transportation and they were sent to either Sydney or Hobart. The convict stain has been submerged and forgotten in South Australian history, but ex-convicts roamed all over the colony. This talk will explore the 'convict history' of South Australia.

Please note, this session will be recorded, and all registrants will recieve a link to the recording after the event.
